Guest Speaker – Chris Kay
The Bristol Physiotherapy Clinic have been big supporters of the show since its inception with Alex Duncan, who has now moved to the Channel Islands, and Chris Kay and his team and we are very happy to welcome them back to this year’s show.
Chris is a fully qualified Sports Rehabilitation Specialist who graduated from St Mary’s University in Twickenham and is a full member of BASRat. He specialises in diagnosing sports injuries, biomechanical assessment, functional rehabilitation, sports massage involving deep tissue and myofascial techniques, as well as nutrition.
Sports Rehabilitation focuses on a functional and active recovery from injury. It aims to find the source of the injury to reduce likelihood of re-injury and provide advice on all aspects of treatment. Although the name implies, sports people are not the only people Chris treats.
Chris has provided sports massage at several events, including the London Marathon and worked as a massage therapist for International rugby teams such as South Africa and New Zealand as well as London Welsh Rugby Club.
Chris is also the Manager and Head Running Coach at the Running School Bristol after receiving a high level of training from world renown running expert Mike Antoniades at The Running School Headquarters in Chiswick.
