Coach’s Corner Charter

Coach’s Corner

Coach’s Corner is a drop-in conversation space at the Bristol Running Show. Its role is to gently bridge the gap between everyday runners and the wider coaching and practitioner landscape — without the pressure, structure, or commitment of formal coaching.

This is not a coaching programme or assessment service.
It is a place to talk, listen, ask questions, and explore possibilities.

Purpose

Coach’s Corner exists to:

  • Create an approachable first contact between runners and coaches in a relaxed, human setting

  • Offer a low-pressure pathway for those curious about coaching but unsure where to begin

  • Value both formal qualifications and lived experience, recognising that insight comes from many routes

What Happens Here

  • Informal conversations
Short, practical chats — clarifying questions, gentle guidance, and perspective rather than prescriptions.

  • Exploration, not instruction
Space for alternative viewpoints, emerging ideas, and experience-based insight that may not fit traditional coaching formats.

  • Signposting, when appropriate
If a runner wants more structured support, Coach’s Corner can help point them toward suitable next steps — without obligation.

Safeguarding & Boundaries

All contributors operate under our Safeguarding & Vetting Policy.
Interactions are conversational, time-limited, and non-directive, ensuring the space remains safe, respectful, and inclusive.

Coach’s Corner does not replace formal coaching, medical, therapeutic, or professional advice. Conversations are exploratory and supportive in nature, and participants remain responsible for any decisions they make following these discussions.

Why Coach’s Corner Matters

For many runners, formal coaching can feel distant, competitive, or intimidating.
Coach’s Corner offers something quieter and more human — a first step rather than a leap.

It supports our wider ethos: building accessible pathways, reducing barriers to guidance, and creating spaces where curiosity is welcomed and confidence can grow.
