Westbury Harriers – 2026

Westbury Harriers Running Club logoSome clubs don’t just belong to a city — they help shape its running culture. Westbury Harriers is one of those rare, long‑standing anchors. The club was founded in 1924 and is based in Westbury‑on‑Trym. For more than a hundred years, they’ve been part of Bristol’s running story, welcoming runners of all ages, abilities and ambitions.

What stands out about Westbury Harriers is the breadth of their community. They support runners from their Academy for 8–11‑year‑olds all the way through juniors, seniors and masters. Because of this, the club offers a clear pathway for anyone who wants to grow as a runner. Their sessions — group runs, interval training, track work and coached sessions — are all led by England Athletics‑qualified leaders and coaches. As a result, runners receive both expertise and encouragement.

Training takes place across some of Bristol’s most iconic running spots. These include Coombe Dingle Sports Complex, the Downs by St Monica’s and Horfield Common. The club is deeply rooted in the city’s landscape, and it continues to nurture runners at every stage of their journey.

Westbury Harriers have also supported the Bristol Running Show from the very beginning. They’ve taken part in every edition, year after year. Their presence helps ground the event in the wider running community. It’s a reminder that running is sustained not only by races and training plans, but also by clubs that show up consistently to welcome and encourage others.

We’re delighted to have them with us again. If you’re looking for a club with history, heart and a genuinely friendly atmosphere, make sure to visit the Westbury Harriers stand at the show.
