Dawn Gardener 2023
Dawn Gardner is a Biomedical Scientist from Bristol who we are delighted to welcome back to the Show. She’s been running ultra marathons for over 10 years and loves races 100 miles and beyond. Since having her little boy almost three years ago she’s been working out how to juggle mum life and running, and has been building herself back up to the longer events.
Dawn Gardner became a mum to Freddie, in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. Dawn was able to run throughout her pregnancy and picked it up again quickly despite a fairly traumatic birth, she finished the South Downs Way 50 just six months later. By the time Freddie had turned one she had completed the Centurion 50 mile grand slam, all four of Centurions 50 mile events. She also squeezed in another 3 trail marathons during that time to earn her coveted 100 Marathon Club vest. Last year Dawn gave a talk on motherhood and ultrarunning, and showed it’s possible to achieve great things on limited training.
