Ali Walsh – Life on a Rice Cake
Ali Walsh is the founder of Life on a Rice Cake, a website for people who need to avoid gluten.
Ali started running at the age of 11 and ran the 2023 London Marathon dressed as a banana, narrowly missing her PB from 2007 (when she dressed as a pizza slice).
As someone who’s had coeliac disease for over 25 years, Ali knows just how difficult long races can be with a gluten-free lifestyle. She’ll show you how to:
(a) explore a variety of gluten-free carbs;
(b) find replacements for standard snacks & energy bars; and
(c) avoid hitting the wall.
Ali is an accomplished speaker and writer, regularly appearing on BBC radio and events in London, Bristol and Bath including the FreeFrom Food Festival and Coeliac UK. She wrote for Gluten-Free Heaven magazine for 5 years and has a new book coming out next month called, Are You There, Gluten?
She lives in Bristol with her husband and two naughty little people who love covering themselves in chocolate.
