Chris Elson – Running Coach

Chris Elson is Emeritus Professor of Immunology of at Bristol University. He’s been a member of Bristol & West Athletic Club for 52 years. He competed for over 50 years from Yorkshire Schools mile champion and record holder in 1958 to silver medal in the British Masters Cross Country at 63 via running for Scotland in his prime and England & Great Britain as a Master. After his retirement he took up coaching actively and received the South West Participation of the year award in 2012 and Westbury Harriers coach of the year in 2012. He is in the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame for his athletic & coaching achievements.
