Great Western Runners 2025
Great Western Runners (GWR) is a friendly and inclusive running club based in Bristol, UK, welcoming runners of all abilities. They meet at Redland Green Club every Wednesday at 7pm and offer various routes, including 4, 6, 8, and 10-mile options. There’s no obligation to join for a run, allowing potential members to try it out first.
GWR provides a 4-mile beginners group led by qualified leaders, and in winter, runs are on well-lit roads in Redland, Westbury, and Clifton. As evenings brighten, routes extend to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Ashton Court, and Leigh Woods. The club promotes wellbeing and helps members achieve their capacities.
GWR organises the GWR Towpath Series, featuring three 10K races and a final 5K between May and August. They also support young athletes through the Arthur Dagger Memorial Fund (ADMF).
